Great stuff from Brad. Is he planning to switch to the track in prep for Rio. Do we know his plans?
Woah! Check out that steely look from Martin. Looks like lots of calculating going on there. Be afraid, be very afraid... It's on!

Tony Martin and Wiggo are respectful opponents, each underlining and enforcing the other's abilities, makes for good competition; form varies seasonally and daily of course, although I think yesterday's ride was definitely dialled by Sir B and would have been difficult to beat in any circumstances. As for the future, he's said he's going to do the hour and concentrate on the Olympics, that's about carrying a bit more bulk and power, with the side effect of allowing a serious punt at the flatter spring classics, the obvious choice being Paris Roubaix - although lady luck plays a big part in that one. It's been an interesting season, this thread has proven one of my favorites for forum banter - thanks everyone for the comments.

I'll be amazed if he doesn't enter a stage race next year, if only to get his stripes on display.

He can't wear the rainbow jersey in stage races only time trials but I guess there would be time trial stages in the major tours. I would love to see him back in one of these but I can't see it happening given his stated aim of concentrating on the track. For me, road racing is far more interesting than track but a medal is a medal and Brad wants to maximise his haul before he retires.

Of all the jerseys I could ever dream of winning. Given a choice it would be the rainbow stripes!

yesterday was an example of Brad time trialing like a boss!
I read a stat that he maintained a speed of 31 mph throughout the course...that's frightening!

No doubt he'll give it a run out at a few local events. I do think that's him done with the road now, unless he fancies another go at Paris-Roubaix. He's a rider I rarely enjoyed watching but his palmares cannot be disputed. Best of luck to him.

I can sympathise with your view of Brad to some extent but if you wanted to demonstrate to someone how to ride a racing bike I would show a video of him in action. I used to think the same about Seb Coe and running some years back. Poetry in motion.

Him as a bike rider is sublime though........when he feels like it.
