Big congrats djt. Made up for you. Being a father of 3 myself I can safely say, with experience.................. it's hell. Mine are in their 20's now and still living at home!!! A few tips on being a family of 5; Family tickets at theme parks don't apply to us. You'll always need a 4 door car. With the said 4 door car, you will get squabbles as to who has to sit in the middle. Hotel stays become difficult. Get used to smuggling 3rd child in past reception. There's always 1 has to sit next to a randomer on buses, trains and theme park rides. Taxi rides are difficult - 7 seater is the norm. That 5th mouth puts a larger dent in the food bill. The washing machine is always on the go. (ask Mrs Red) 2 bathrooms in the house is a serious consideration. Plus points The house is always lively. No visitors staying overnight. The house is always full. A lift to the pub is generally available. (only applies when children are old enough to drive) An extra birthday/Christmas present.

Congrats djtwigster, do you know what sex it is or are you keeping it a surprise? I've got a bairn due myself on the 8th January, it's my first and I'm starting to brick it as the date flies ever closer! It's made worse as I'm about to move house next week, have a load of uni deadlines leading up to Christmas (alongside now taking on a large design contract at work to run by myself, which is starting to pick up now and will run 'til next summer) & I'm having to do all the housework/packing myself as the missus is suffering from symphysis pubis dysfunction. I've also had to pay to go to these NCT classes on the weekend (since our local NHS trust doesn't offer any pre-natal classes) on SWMBO's behest, which means in total I haven't been on here/my bike much recently! /whinge! I have managed to buy a KoM TdF babygrow though, which makes it all worth it when I get an opportune snap in the summer of her with the peloton riding past! Having already had two before, I bet you're a lot less whingy & more relaxed than I seem to be!

A huge heartfelt thanks for all the messages guys. They're very much appreciated. @toonsi, congrats to ye also, a lot of exciting times ahead. I have been blessed so far with two of the most lovable, well mannered kids a father could possibly ask for, so it was mainly my idea to go for number 3. Not knowing the sex, although not very practical, adds to the experience, toonsi, imo.
