Still in my summer kit, albeit the bib shorts are supplemented with a pair of aldi legwarmers and I wear a short sleeved base layer and lightweight brightly coloured dhb rainjacket over the top and find that plenty warm enough.
Tried my warmer winter jacket (another aldi job) and was sweating like a 1970's radio-1 DJ when the doorbell goes, so went back to the lightweight stuff.
Roubaix 3/4 bib tights may be my concession as it starts to get a bit cooler.

Getting ready for winter, ordered the planet x winter bundle to give me socks, overshoes, gloves, beanie and buff. Then I've also ordered a dhb windslam soft shell, dhb roubaix unpadded bib tights and some sks chromoplastics. Should do me for most of winter if I can avoid the heavy rain. Had to scrape ice off the car a couple of times already, it's getting cold up here

Dagnabbit. I went to Field and Trek and got a lightweight one in the week, and already have a heavier one I use snowboarding. Was worried I'd missed out on something!

Don't remember getting a buff with my PX winter bundle, @harley. Is it listed? www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/ZXWINTER/winter_bundleThey've changed the bundle from what it originally was Price is slightly higher and different items, still pretty good value though. Not sure on why we would want a beanie and an under helmet cap - both look pretty similar if you ask me.

my winter kit consists of DHB bib tights Dunlop long fingered gloves hi vis showerproof cycling jacket craft overshoes DHB headband 1000 lumens front light 2 rear lights and while its wet my steel hybrid with full SKS mudguards Still undecided with the front light. Learning towards the Cateye volt 3000 at about Β£50 which the most I am willing to spend. Nice list of necessities here martin122. Planning on riding my Rockrider 8.0 too better brakes with hydraulics.

Still very impressed with the aldi long sleeved jersey, wore that today with just arm warmers underneath. Kept body snug and surprisingly dry in 7 miles of rain.

I honestly can't fault this Chinese Cree T6 light I bought. Β£19.99 delivered to France from the UK. It's just a stunningly well made piece of kit. Yes, it's a tad heavy, but I'm not a member of Cycling Weight-Watchers so it doesn't matter. Reported problems with the plug being a bit iffy are easily solved and the power that emanates from this thing just has to be seen to be believed! If it lasts just one winter it has to be worth it at that price? Two days now I've had the light on strobe (look away now if you're epileptic....) for around an hour and a half in the pouring rain, and it's good from start to finish. The free rear light is battery operated and has a fantastic array of functions. The missus has that and it can be seen for miles! I have a Sigma 'torch' light on the front too, as well as a USB rechargeable jobby from Deca, and I know I am 120% visible.

Used the planet X gloves yesterday and hands were a bit cold especially my thumbs, used the aldi gloves this morning and like toast at start but sweaty hands after a few hills. Tried to take them off on the move and probably won`t try that again as sticking to hands and seemed to be pulling the liner out. OK to take off carefully once stopped though. Might pinch the wife's cotton gloves and try them as a liner with the planet X tomorrow.

wore my altura helmet cover this morning in the rain and I must say it worked well. Not a bit of rain on my head although after six miles my head was a bit sweaty. Better than a wet head and have a cold anytime.

Used the Planet X overshoes for the first time on a (as it turned out) very wet and windy eight mile commute this morning. They don't claim to be waterproof (which is good, because they are not!) but kept most of the worst of the rain out. Shoes just a little damp where the tongue is, otherwise fine. I like that the overshoes come up the leg a little way, further than my Endura Dexter overshoes. This means my winter longs (from Lidl, a great buy - keeping my eyes peeled for more of these) just tuck over the top nicely. My Dexters will be used for very wet weather as these are waterproof.
EDIT - the PX overshoes were from the original winter bundle.
