Hi,
Not a full member yet, as not got my hands on my Triban yet. But I need some help from you guys.
I was planning to get the T7 through the Cyclescheme. Unfortunately my voucher took ages to come, when it did I rang the Sheffield store and they had 1 available in 57cm frame, which they reserved for me. This was a Friday and I couldn't get down until Monday. I rang to check in the morning and the one that was supposedly reserved was sold over the weekend!!! Very annoying but then they said it would be approx. 3 week wait for them to come in as there were none in the country.
I popped an email off to their customer services that same day and then heard nothing (I even sent a chaser email but nowt back). It got to 3 weeks and I thought I would check with them again and they said that although they were in production, they had no idea when they would be arriving in stores. This becomes a problem as the Cyclescheme voucher expires after 30 days.
Anyway I searched for Decathlon email addresses and found someone pretty high up, so pinged him the mail and explained that I had heard nothing from their customer services, not even an acknowledgement, in nearly a month. Got a message straight back and Sheffield store manager rang me today to sort the issue.
The long and short of it is they have offered me an FC3 at the same price I would have paid for the T7. So I should go for it right? The only real concern I have is that this is my first road bike and I was really going for the T7 as I could get it cheaper through the Cyclescheme. Is a full carbon bike a bit ridiculous? Also the geometry looks a tad more aggressive on the FC3, is this right?
I'm thinking I should snap their hand off, but just thought I would check with the initiated first...
One bummer I had just bought a vintage Triban jersey off ebay, and now I wont have a bloody Triban after all :(
Thoughts guys....?
