Mountain biking in Grizedale last weekend.
Came off, broken my wrist. Needed surgery to put a plate in to fasten the bone back together.
Arse!

Ah well mate, nice to see you're testing the equipment to the limit, best try not to break it though! Get well soon - no chance of sedate road rides after a few weeks then?

Be patient and let it fully heal. Hope it's a quick recovery for you. Being off the bike is like not getting your crack rock.

Just thought I'd let you see my Bionic Implant: Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedI had surgery 2 days after the crash and was told if it goes as well as they hope then i wont need a cast. otherwise, i will. When I came round, my arm was in a big bandage The upshot of this is: 2 weeks after the op I am now more less out of the splint they gave me and moving my wrist again. It's very stiff, a bit sore and i have very little strength in it, but had I not needed the surgery, I would probably still be in a cast! The surgery was needed because the bone had split and needed pulling back together, had it not been done, I could have suffered from the early onset of arthritis. I'm on the mend, and the Turbo (not as often as I should be, though). Thanks everyone for your kind words

Bad luck spaceflightorange. That's a tough break, if you know what I mean, and right in the heart of the 'season' too. You sound like you've got a good temperament to deal with it though. I can only repeat what others have said - hope you make a speedy and problem-free recovery.
