Ah, trampolines, my son's punctured my Mercedes a few years back.
It had those posts with safety netting around - upended in high winds, went across the garden, impaled itself on a 6 ft high stone wall and my car - the posts were facing down like a metal spider or one of those things in War of the Worlds.
Broke almost all the windows, bent the bonnet, big dents in the roof, 2 doors and a boot lid; we spent 20 mins at 4am outside the house, fighting to get it off the car and wall, like trawlerman; had to get a mate round and wrestle if off, whilst Mrs drove the car out from under - nightmare, luckily fixed via insurance.

...probably wasn't the same sort of wind as in Scotland though, it's worse there apparently .

I was on a delayed ferry back from Normandie way once, around the time I used to go out and watch the TdF with the better half before kids; we had the guy at the bar telling us no need to worry about the weather, we've had the beer glasses falling off the ceiling hooks before, that's how you know it's bad ... sure enough, about an hour later the beer glasses are dropping. Nowhere near as bad as that scene though, I am amazed the stuff wasn't tethered tbh. The grating thing about our trip was the calls for the odd biker to go down and see their steeds, as a few had gone over, despite being strapped into the deck cleats. For once around then, we were in a car, so we got off lightly. How did I cope with the high seas, in true Bristol naval fashion, a few Pussers and a few pints of Stella ... once loaded, I hardly noticed the difference ... as I recall, the trip went swimmingly (without any actual swimming) so all was well. I think I snoozed from Portsmouth back to Bristol in the passenger seat; the Mrs was piloting the jalopy, having foregone any driving duties in France, due to it being 'on the wrong side' .
