Is the Tissington Trail surface okay for the Triban, Emma? I've fancied doing that trail for a while now. I have to confess it is a very long time since I last walked the tissington trail - think it might have been back in 1988/9. I tend not to visit places that are flat and full of kids anymore... (too many years working in a boarding school...) If I recall correctly it was hardcore (crushed limestone) and similar to the converted railway that I live alongside (Whitegate Way near to Delamere Forest). That one is a case of if it has rained recently, I don't take my T3 on simply because it gets too dirty too quickly and the drivechain makes the most horrendous noises within a couple of kms. But if it is has been dry for a while (or it is frozen solid - ground frozen for sometime) then I will happily take my T3 along it without concern. I think the Tissington trail has less mud to worry about than the Whitegate Way. Sorry can't help more.

That's great thanks, Emma. I'll probably do it on my touring bike rather than the triban.
