I bought a workstand as mentioned elsewhere and promptly went up the road to Aldi to return the one I bought there last week. The rainjackets are heavier than expected and fold into themselves when not worn. The yellow gloves are well padded in the palms, but I was not impressed with the others. Wanting a little bit of colour, I also nabbed a pair of the yellow shoes. It remains to be seen how long they last, but I'm generally very easygoing on shoes.

i use the seat post, inly because to MTB top tube is an odd shape, and it clamps the cables, its jsut easier having the head pivoted for the seat post for me...but what ever works.
It maybe easier if you have to screw the clamp shut to have it on the TT

Does it hold the bike OK on the seat post? Stable? Saw stacks of them earlier lidl Mare street, hackney. But couldn't grab one, as I was going somewhere. Might go back later with the car.

The only difference is the quick release on the clamp. I bought the Aldi one as an insurance policy against missing out at Lidl, as I didn't know if I'd be able to get there before they were gone. But as it happened, I needn't have worried, as there were plenty of them. There were only three at Aldi, so I wasn't sure how many Lidl would have. So many times I've been lax about getting there on the day for things I've wanted and been disappointed when I missed out. Considering the cost in relation to other workstands and their reputation, here and elsewhere, I was determined not to miss out this time.
I now look forward to seeing the last remaining 4 or 5 kicking about the shop for the next 3 weeks!

Has anyone bought the wireless computer? If so can you mount it on the stem?

I went in earlier, loads and loads of stands and all the other gear. I'm going to keep my Aldi one, as it's just to much effort to take it back.
I did look at the gloves and to be honest they all looked a bit naff. The green was the only one even worth looking at, it's the only one that had enough padding as mentioned by tribanista. Although I'm not a cycle snob by any means, the green on the gloves put me off.

Im pretty impressed with the Aldi stand but now you've got me thinking... I never bothered calling into Lidl (read: forgot)

I find the quick release so easy to use when trying to clamp the bike on your own. The screw scamps are fiddly when holding the bike and trying to clamp it.
